Beta build
In short: be kind, share only what's yours to share, keep your own copies of what matters, and remember Aluta is a beta that's still growing. These Terms are a good-faith draft by the developer, not legal advice.

1. Agreeing to these Terms

These Terms are an agreement between you and Ozilane, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, which builds and runs Aluta (“Aluta”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the Aluta apps, website or services (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. A beta, provided as it is

Aluta is in beta. It is offered “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows.

3. Who can use Aluta

You must be at least 13 and old enough to accept these Terms where you live. If you are under the age of majority, use Aluta only with a parent's or guardian's involvement.

4. Your account

5. Be kind — acceptable use

Don't use Aluta, or help anyone use it, to:

We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these Terms or put people at risk.

6. Your content

You own what you create and share — messages, photos, voice notes, Stories, hearts, moments, diary entries and the rest (“Your Content”) — and you're responsible for it. You give us a limited licence to store, send and display Your Content only to run the Service (for example to deliver a message, or show a moment to the other member of your Space). The licence ends when Your Content is deleted, apart from short backup cycles. We don't sell Your Content or use it for ads.

7. Spaces, hearts and shared moments

8. Music and Listen Together

Aluta plays music files from your own device and lets you share songs and listen together with friends. You must have the right to play and share any music or media you use; Aluta doesn't give you rights to anyone else's music. Song recognition, GIFs and similar features come from other providers and are offered as they are.

9. Calls

Calls connect devices directly and are not recorded by us. Follow the recording and privacy laws that apply to you and the people you call.

10. Plans and payments

Aluta is free to use today. Some extras (for example “Aluta Together” or more storage) may become paid in future; if so, we'll show the price and terms clearly before you pay, and payments will follow the rules of the store or payment method you use. Nothing is charged without your clear agreement.

11. Feedback

We love hearing from you. If you send ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Aluta without owing you anything — and we'll do our best to reply in the app.

12. Other services

Aluta uses providers such as Google Firebase, Railway, Zoho ZeptoMail, Sentry, GIPHY, AudD and call relays (see the Privacy Policy). Their own terms apply to their part, and we're not responsible for services we don't control.

13. Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, and because Aluta is a free beta, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, from using (or not being able to use) the Service. Nothing here limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

14. Ending things

You can stop using Aluta at any time and ask us to delete your account (support@ozilane.com; an in-app option is coming). We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, to protect people or the Service, or if we stop offering it — with notice where we reasonably can. Sections on content, acceptable use, disclaimers and liability continue after that.

15. Changes

If these Terms change in a way that matters, we update the date above and ask you to review and accept them in the app.

16. Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, and disputes go to the courts of Tanzania, unless a law that protects you where you live says otherwise.
